With over 20+ years of global talent leadership experience across multiple industries, Gavin brings a unique, culturally informed, and pragmatic perspective to his client partnerships. As President of Werq, he works with C-suite and senior executives across many sectors like healthcare, technology, and marketing services sectors, and from start-ups to large established organizations, to raise the bar on their personal and team effectiveness. His talent consulting work, strategy design, change management, and organization design work leverages highly effective discovery methods to determine critical business needs and appropriate solutions.
Prior to consulting, Gavin was CHRO at Synovate, a London-based global market research business and Harte Hanks Inc. Earlier in his career, he led the HR function for Pentland Brands PLC in London and Hong Kong after successfully completing quality and sales roles in his native South Africa. His international experience spans four continents, including leadership roles that facilitated organizational change across 60+ countries and guided HR due diligence for over 25 multinational acquisitions.
Gavin currently serves on the Board of Directors at Gaudenzia, and as an Adjunct Instructor at Cornell University. He earned his MBA from Heriot Watt University and completed programs at USC (Strategic Organization Design), Ashridge University (Leading Strategy & Change), and Cranfield University (Advanced Project Management). He is a member of the International Coach Federation.
